My stomach popped a lot in the last week.  More and more people are starting to notice and ask about it.  I just feel so gigantic!  I'm so nervous about getting huge this time around and am already wearing maternity clothes.  I'm also starting to feel full on kicks instead of just the fluttery movements from last week.  

Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes again.  Of course, this is no surprise to me because I had GD with my other two pregnancies.  As annoying as it is to diet and prick my finger several times a day, it's a blessing is disguise because I know it will keep me from gaining too much weight.  Another bonus is that I get to see my OB more frequently and get weekly ultrasounds.  I absolutely loved seeing Amelia and Alex through the ultrasounds every week!

I'm eagerly anticipating finding out the gender! We should find out the second week of April.  I had this idea in my head that I wanted to keep it a surprise until birth.  Honestly, I don't think I can wait that long!  I'm definitely a planner and I'm starting to obsess about it.  I doubt we will keep it a surprise.

Why do babies cry?

Amelia:  It's because she woke up from her nap.

Alex: I cry because I miss you.  Then you give me a huggie and I feel better.

What are you going to do when the baby cries?

Amelia: Put something in it's mouth, hug her, then call mommy.

Alex: Give the baby a treat.

The kids have been obsessed with measuring things lately, so we got them each their own tape measure.  It made me smile when they asked if they would measure the baby.

Spring Break Photo Dump

The weather didn't really cooperate with our Spring Break plans, but we made the best of it.  We just enjoyed our schedule free, relaxed time at home.  Quality time is all that really matters anyway!  Between rainstorms, we tried to get outside to play.

Adventure Science Museum III

Most of our outdoor Spring Break plans were thwarted due to rain and cold weather.  Instead of the zoo, we met up with our friends and went to the Adventure Science Museum in Nashville again!  This will be the third time in three months that we have visited the museum.  I love how the kids find new and exciting things to explore in the museum each time we visit.

Me: Alex, what planet is that with the ring around it?

Alex: Washington

Alex enjoyed the magnet table.  He sat there experimenting with all the tubes for a long time.

"Look at all these micro-bots, Mommy!!!"

After I had read and taught Alex about static, he was repeating everything I just said, as if he were teaching me about it!  He's such a smart little boy. "Look mommy, this is static."

I honestly think the best part of this third pregnancy is that I get to share the experience with Amelia and Alex.  Amelia was so young when I was pregnant with Alex, so she didn't really understand.  With this pregnancy, both kids are old enough to comprehend what's happening, sort of.  

They have so many silly questions and it's fun to watch their little minds try to figure out the concept of pregnancy and having another sibling.

Amelia: 

Can the baby share a room with me?  I want to have a special girl room with my sister.  (We don't know the gender yet, but Amelia is certain she is getting a sister.)

I'm going to give my sister all my cute clothes that don't fit.  All the cutie ones.

Ethan (her preschool friend) doesn't have a sister!  That makes me sad mommy.

Alex:

I don't like that baby (pointing to my friend's baby), but I will like your baby.

By day three of the snow days, the roads were clear enough for us to leave the house, yay! Our first stop was Jimmy's office.  He had a lot of catching up to do.  We set up the TV in the lobby area for a movie, popped popcorn, and had special snacks while Jimmy worked for a few hours.  The kids thought it was so special and fun.

We also visited a friends house for a play date.  The kids are in a fort they made and playing with flashlights.

I'm still just feeling winded and get tired easily, but other than that I feel great!  I attribute my lack of symptoms to the fact that I'm so busy and distracted by so many other things going on. 

I think I feel the baby moving.  The fluttering feeling in my stomach feels very familiar!

I'm really starting to think I might be having a girl. With Alex, I had terrible heartburn and indigestion.  Currently, I've had zero tummy issues with this pregnancy.  This baby is also due around the same time as Amelia's birthday. Hmmmm, I guess we'll see!  

According to Amelia's boyfriend, Ethan... "Ethan told me that only mommies have girl babies and daddies have boy babies."

Where is the baby going to sleep?

Amelia: In my crib.

Alex: Up high, so it can't see me (long pause) or in the kitchen.

What are you going to do when the baby poops?

Amelia: I'm going to say "yuck!"

Alex: I'm not going to change the diaper because it's stinky and disgusting (pronounced dis-quest-ing)

Playing Hooky

Amelia had school today, but we decided to skip school, head to Nashville, and spend time with our friends who were visiting from out of town.  Malinda and her beautiful daughters were nice enough visit us for the whole week!
