Dear Santa

Amelia and Alex were excited and eager to talk to Santa. They had been talking about meeting him for weeks.  I just love the magic of Christmas!

Amelia asked for the Lego Friends Grand Hotel and Alex asked for the Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage

Since the kids were dressed up, I took a few practice shots at home.

When you ask Alex to smile, this is his posed grin...

My favorite!

Soccer Shots

Amelia and Alex had been asking about going to "soccer school" for several months.  Once I knew it was something they really wanted, I signed them up!  Thankfully, I found a class that they could both attend at the same time. Just one of the perks of having two kids so close in age.

Alex is my shy guy. He definitely has a hard time with new situations and large groups. He kept telling me he was going to be brave at soccer school today. I'm so proud of him!  He was anxious and nervous at first, but really blossomed and came out of his shell. He did fall several times and cried, but he got right back into the game kept trying.

Amelia cried the first day because she didn't score a goal.  We had a long talk about what it means to be on a team, soccer, and the importance of having fun. The next session, she had an assist and was very excited, but still disappointed she didn't get to kick it in. Then, by the third class, she scored two goals! It was so awesome to see how much pride she felt because she kept on trying.

I'm so happy the kids are getting more out of the class than just soccer skills. I love seeing them "keep trying," which is something we focus on at home and in school. They use those same words when they express their frustrations, but they just keep on going. I'm just so proud of them!
