Lolo and Chuck E Cheese
Amelia and Alex associate Lolo (and Lola) with Chuck E Cheese. It's just their thing. During Face Time calls they always talk about going there. When we visit Washington, Lolo and Lola take them there multiple times. So many of their memories of Lolo and Lola revolve around this place.
Chuck E Cheese has turned into this huge expectation over the years, ha ha. So, of course, we went twice while my dad was in town.

Snow!
The first real snow of winter and we got about an inch, ha ha. The kids loved it. They were glued to the window as they watched the snow fall. Alex kept saying it was Elsa that made the snow and that she was probably feeling sad.

Lolo is Here!
My dad was nice enough to fly down and help me out with the kids while Jimmy spent quality time with his family in Hawaii. My dad is such an amazing grandfather. He helped me with everything and I loved having him around!
He is a great cook, so made all my meals. As soon as he saw my 10 pound bag of rice in the kitchen he looked at me with concern and said, "You know this isn't going to be enough for the week, right?" Ha ha! He also woke up with the kids in the mornings, watched them while I went out, and even became skilled at diffusing Alex's epic post nap tantrums, ha ha. My dad is just so awesome. I love that he's so hands on and involved with the kids. I'm blessed to have such great men in my life!
The kids loved being with him. Amelia was actually obsessed with asking about how many days left he was going to visit. It made me feel sad, but also happy that she doesn't want him to leave. Alex and my dad have always had a special bond. It was definitely made stronger after this visit. Alex and my dad have the cutest conversations together and were inseparable.
My dad and I are close. We talk at least three or four times a week and he Face Times with the kids regularly. He is retired, so is always around when I need to talk or if the kids want to see him, which is nice ;0)
Hanging out with my dad was fun, relaxing, and so comforting. We watched hours of the Game Show Network, enjoying marathons of Family Feud and Baggage. We both screamed answers at the TV and couldn't stop laughing.
I will cherish our tea/coffee breaks at the kitchen table, both of us always with a newspaper in hand discussing current events and anything else on our minds. While growing up, coffee breaks and sau sau (dipping bread in coffee or tea) paired with family discussions were constants in our household. Whenever my siblings and I visit WA, we still gather around the table regularly for our coffee breaks.
Of course, my dad constantly reminded me of how similar Amelia and Alex were to me as a child too. I love hearing stories from my childhood. It was a great visit!

Alex's 3rd Birthday: Monster Truck Cake (video)
Per Lehman tradition, all birthday cakes are made by Jimmy! Alex requested a Monster Truck birthday cake and that's just what he got. I think Jimmy did a great job. It's definitely a big step up from Alex's Wreck it Ralph cake from last year. Click here to see it.

I can't believe our little man is three! I have so many emotions, but pride is what stands out the most for me right now. Alex has grown into such a silly, fun, energetic, smart boy. He talks non-stop about anything and everything and has the most creative, detailed imagination. He is fearless and athletic, which is a scary combination! I am proud to be his mother and part of his life.

Alex was nice enough to let his big sister help him open gifts.
