Amelia's First Haircut

Amelia's hair was getting out of control and has never been cut. Although it was really long, it was uneven, thin, and very hard to manage.  At three and a half years old, it was time for her first haircut.  To celebrate this milestone, we took a special trip to Nashville to take her to a toddler salon.

Amelia did great.  She was nervous and stone faced the whole time, but there were no tears.  Whenever Alex gets a haircut, we go as a family, so I think she was familiar with the experience and knew what she was getting into.  She got about four inches cut off!

Alex and Mommy Naptime

I can't remember the last time Alex fell asleep in my arms.  This is a rare occurrence and even though I was getting really sweaty and my arm was numb, I loved every minute and tried to savor the moment.  Hopefully this isn't the last time he ever sleeps on me.  Kids do grow up so fast...

Home Again

Traveling to Washington (and being spoiled!) for four weeks definitely makes for a difficult transition to our normal routine.  Fortunately, Mimi's Spring Break coordinated with our return.  We had a week to get things in order before our hectic schedule started up again.

First morning home and the kids were exhausted and jet lagged...
I don't know why they didn't sleep in!

Look closely, Amelia is trying to insert her "charge card" into the Kindle.  She thinks shes paying to unlock a new level!

Alex, "Let's call Becca (our babysitter)...  Hi Becca, come play now!"

Face timing with Lolo
They were giggling and laughing during the entire call!

Mimi tripped over this chair and got really mad.  In a rage, she grabbed the tools and said it needed to be fixed because chairs aren't supposed to hurt people.  She cracks me up!

Listening to her explain what to do step by step was super cute.  I am also realizing her leadership style is to be a micromanager ;0)

Me:  "Mimi, times up for the Kindle.  Let go exercise."
Mimi:  *lifts Kindle up and starts doing sit up like motions* "This is my Kindle yoga stretch"

Spokane: Plane to TN

Despite some long delays, a few tantrums, and almost missing our connecting flight, our plane ride home was much less eventful than getting to Washington.  So so so thankful that Jimmy was there to help me this time around.  What a difference!

Thank goodness for modern technology!  The kids did great ;0)

Spokane: Mahjong Madness

We had a late night "bonding-bonding" session at my parent's house.  Jimmy hadn't played Mahjong since we were in college, so I consulted him in a few successful wins.  Go Team Lehman!

This was the only night all of the Gadingans were together at the house.  We were only together for a few short hours, but it was so refreshing and I can't remember the last time I laughed so much!

Sadly, we only get together about once a year, so I am thankful for the time we spend together.  My family is everything to me and despite all the distance and time between visits, we all remain very close.

Why does the white guy keep winning?
