Alex, Two Weeks

Alex is such a calm baby.  He (knock on wood) doesn't really cry unless he's hungry or tired.  He's super mellow compared to the way Amelia was when she was a newborn.  Amelia would cry non-stop for no reason, ha ha ha.

He is already reaching for toys and actually enjoys tummy time.  He also enjoys looking at himself in the mirror.  If you massage is arms and legs, you can get him to smile.  When you put your face right up to his, he will reach out to try to touch you.  Of course, he smells amazing!  He's such a sweet baby!  He does not like diaper changes or getting his nails cut.

He still wakes up about three times a night to nurse.  He's getting better about getting back to sleep right after feedings, so I'm getting more sleep.  We started leaving our master bathroom fan on since he was sleeping better with the white noise.  Since it helped with his sleeping, we got him a little stuffed giraffe white noise machine and it has made a big difference in his sleeping habits.

Alex had his two week well baby visit and he is already 9 pounds, 2 ounces!  Since he's grown lengthwise, he has already outgrown most of his newborn clothing.  He is also ready to move up to size one diapers.  By this time, most of Amelia's hair on the top of her head had fallen out, so we are happy to see that Alex has retained most of his, so far.

Amelia slept the same way when she was a newborn!
