Turn Back Time (Photo Dump)

I was looking for a specific picture on the computer and ended up spending about an hour looking through old photos of Jimmy and I.   Wow, so many memories!

Zig Zag and Ice Cream

It was miserably hot, humid, and stormy today (typical TN weather!), so it was a perfect day to met up with friends for INDOOR bouncing, play time, and ice cream!

Beat the Heat

Unfortunately, it's already at the point where it's too hot to be outside.  Thankfully, we already had some indoor play dates planned with our friends.  We had fun with new friends at Kids n Play. Later in the week, we played with Mimi's preschool friend at Chuck E Cheese.

Out for our weekly lunch date.  They had good manners and ate all their lunch, so we got dessert.

Alexander, 2.5

Alex is growing up so fast.  It seems that he has changed so quickly since starting to talk. He has his own opinions and requests.  He loves to tell me about everything that he's doing.  No, seriously, everything.  I call it his commentary on his own life...

Mommy, I'm walking up the stairs.
I'm pushing my car forward.  Now, I'm pushing it backwards.
I'm crying in my crib because I'm mad.

I look at him and see a little man.  I get emotional and excited all at the same time. He is starting to look more and more like his daddy.  They both make the same scrunchy mouth face and both annoy me so much, ha ha.

He is all boy!  Right now he's obsessed with robots (Rescue Bots), any type of vehicle or plane, Mickey Mouse, and bugs.  He enjoys throwing his toys and ramming his cars into things (like princess castles and his big sister).  Alex loves to dress up.  His favorite shirts are a batman shirt with a cape and anything with a robot on it.

He loves dancing, hanging upside down, roughhousing, running, hopping... basically anything dangerous.  I think he's trying to give me a heart attack. Alex walks with a swagger style.  He bend his elbows, swings his arms back and forth, and walks with conviction.

Alex absolutely adores his big sister.  He looks up to her and tries to copy everything she does, both good and bad.  Amelia is very bossy during playtime, but Alex usually is happy to play along.

Spring Schedule & Splish Splash

The kids and I have been enjoying our "summer break."  I really wanted us to have a relaxed, laid-back summer, so the kids are involved in NO scheduled activities until August! It has been working out just the way I had envisioned.

We go out almost everyday and do whatever we want:  play dates with friends, shopping, errands, visiting daddy, long walks, park visits, lunch dates, etc.  Other than my volunteer commitments, we've been doing everything on a whim.

Every morning they ask me what we're going to do.  In return, I love asking them what they want to do and the excitement in their eyes when I say yes to (most of) their requests!

The kids and I are having fun and I feel so thankful that we are able to spend so much time together.  I do admit to sometimes fantasizing about going back to work, but in the end, I really do appreciate all the time I get to spend with Amelia and Alex.

It has been super hot, so we were able to hit up both splash pads on Fort Campbell this week.
