Falling in love all over again
Spokane... I really do love the city!
Jimmy and I left Washington about 6 years ago. In those 6 years, every visit to Washington has been during the winter months. I think during that time we forgot how much we love the Northwest and that winter is (or should be) only 3 months out of the year. Ice, freezing weather, snow, crazy driving, and a dirty city is what we have been conditioned to think our hometown of Spokane to be.
Last week was the first time we saw Spokane with sunshine and great weather in 6 years! We drove around our old neighborhoods, checked out our schools, and visited old hangout spots. Mostly we just reminisced about what it was like to grow up in Spokane... there are so many good memories!

We were just driving around town and had to pull over and enjoy the view because it was so beautiful!

Lehman-Smith Wedding fun!
Last week, Jimmy and I traveled to Spokane, Washington for his sister's wedding. It was held at Mirabeau Park in the Spokane Valley. The weather was great and the ceremony was held on a dock near a waterfall, so it was very beautiful.

Boston
Jimmy has been in Boston since Thursday for Mike Simon's bachelor party. He's up there with some college buddies and Mike's band. From what I hear, they are having a good time. I do admit that I am jealous, especially since I haven't seen some of our college friends in years and would have loved to visit Boston... I wasn't invited only because I am the wrong gender. Lame. He'll be back Monday evening, so I'm excited to hear about his trip.
I've had a nice relaxing weekend so far! The only annoying thing I have to deal with is making my own food. I am pretty spoiled because Jimmy makes all the meals. Since he's gone, I've had to be more independent :0)
I watched a movie on Friday night and on Saturday I had a great workout at the gym. My friend and I did a cardio workout for 45 minutes, went to our Step-Kick class, and worked on abs and arms. I love Saturday workouts because I feel like I can take my time. I always feel rushed during the week. I also went out to lunch (Panera Bread of course!) and shopping with a friend, so it was a good day! I ended the evening with watching yoga on FitTV while eating Godiva chocolates. It was a pretty pathetic moment, ha ha ha.
On Sundays, Jimmy and I usually go trail running, but since Jimmy is in Boston, I guess I won't be doing that... I'm too scared to go by myself anyway! It's also very wet and has been raining all morning. I'll probably just run at home on our treadmill today (maybe while watching yoga, ha ha ha). I'm also planning on going to the bookstore, so I can pick up a new book to read for our upcoming trip to Washington.
Well, that's all for now, not much to report other than that we'll be in Washington on FRIDAY! I am so excited!!

Photo Shoot and DVD
Jimmy and I were asked if we wanted to be on the cover of a magazine called "At Ease." It's a military magazine made especially for Army families. We were excited... but I was really nervous! The photo shoot was so awkward for me! Jimmy did great and they got his shot right away. I, on the other hand, was having major issues (mainly because I was really nervous and felt awkward) and they had to give me lots of guidance and took a bunch of pictures.
I just saw the cover this morning... I think I look like a fool because I FELT like a fool! Argh :( The cover is a scene of Jimmy and I on a roller coaster.
Jimmy and I were also in a Department of the Army DVD given to all new military spouses to help explain how to be a "army family." I think I told you about it last year, but it's finally in distribution... all over the world! I'll try to remember to bring a few copies when I visit Spokane so you all can see it :0)

Military Spouse Day
The Friday before Mother's Day has been Military Spouse Appreciation Day for the last 25 years. My organization hosts the annual luncheon each year for Fort Lee, so I helped a lot with the event. Of course, Jimmy was able to join me! The theme was "luau" so we had a fun time and a delicious lunch. Me and my friend also won a prize from the raffle. It was funny because we both won free bowling tickets! We decided to go as a big group with her family and Jimmy and I sometime.
Camera
I finally loaded the pictures from our camera onto our computer today. I think it's been at least 3 months since I've updated the camera. Here are some pics I thought I would share :0)
Here's Jimmy prepping his "baby" for cruising. Most Sundays, we usually like to take a long drive through the country. When the weather is nice, Jimmy drives his car to work too.
Here's a funny pic of Jimmy and Olivia. He's reading a cat fantasy novel, while wearing his sock booties in bed. Do you see the hippos?
This is from that crazy snow storm we had in March! It was awesome because we only got about 5 inches and they shut down Fort Lee, so we didn't have to go to work! SNOW DAY!

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to my mom, mother-in-law, and Julie! I have the best family :0) I can't wait to see you all in just a few weeks.
Jimmy had to work for a few hours in the morning on Saturday and today, so I am enjoying a nice quiet morning by myself. I woke up at 7:00am and finished a book I was reading and now I'm about to make myself some breakfast. Jimmy should be back around 11:00 and then we're going for trail run.
Last week, I started taking a cardio kick-boxing class. It's pretty crazy, but a great workout, so I'm going to add it into my weekly workout schedule. Pilates is still going great for me and I'm starting to really notice a change in my skill level, so it's very exciting.
Work for me has been very busy! They recently laid off 5 government contractors, so my program lost an employee. So it's just 2 of us running the program instead of 3. It's not only hard because of all the extra work, but Nikki was a great friend of mine too. I actually saw her as more of a friend than a co-worker. It's been a tough change for me. We still hang out socially, but it's not the same :( I'm used to having her around all day at work... it was like working with your best friend!
Jimmy and I are so looking forward to our upcoming trip to Washington! We are excited to see Julie's wedding and catch up with family and friends... only 12 more days!
