First snow of the year

We got some snow this week!  I think our part of town only got about 5-7 inches, but it doesn't take much to shut down the city.  Those few inches caused quite a bit of trouble.  Some people lost power and some are STILL without power!  We lucked out and never lost power. 

We also heard that it took some people 6-8+ hours to get home from work because of the traffic.  The federal government closed down early on Wednesday during the storm. Since we live so close to Walter Reed, it took Jimmy no time or trouble at all to get home, thank goodness.  Most offices were either closed or opened late on Thursday too.

Since Amelia didn't get out for our walk on Friday afternoon, we decided to wait for Jimmy to get home from work.  The three of us went for an evening walk to the mall across the street.  Much to our surprise, the half the mall didn't have electricity!  It was so strange, one side of the mall was open and the other half was dark and closed.  We had dinner there and since we were already at the mall, we stopped by to get some bubble tea.  Honeydew bubble tea slush with tapioca balls... yummmmm.
