Cousin Fun: Pumpkin Patch

Honeysuckle Hill Farm

Hayride
Mimi's face says it all.  She threw the biggest tantrum when we first arrived.  The trigger? She spilled her popcorn.  Ugh.

Where are the pumpkins?

Seriously, where are they?

?

Pumpkins in cardboard boxes along the path.  WTF?

Cousin Fun: Park and Army Museum

Jimmy had to make a speech at the BACH lab graduation, so we thought since his family was in town, that we would invite them to listen to his speech.  Since they all live so far away, it was a good chance for them to get a glimpse of Army life and what Jimmy actually does in the hospital.

Since we were on post, we hit up the park, and then took the kids to the outdoor Army museum to check out all the cool Army vehicles and weapons.

Bubble Tea

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love bubble tea!  In DC we used to live across the street from a great bubble tea place and I went there almost every day.  Clarksville... not so much.  I did find a little ice cream shop in the mall that makes it, but they don't taste amazing.

Anyways, since Jimmy had the day off, Amelia and I had a mother-daughter day.  As a special treat to end our fabulous day, we got cookies and bubble tea.  She loved the tea.  Well, sort of.  She loved the tea, but was not a fan of the tapioca balls. I guess she's only half Asian, so it makes sense she only likes half of the ingredients in the drink!

When it Rains

It pours.

Life with the Lehman's has been rough these past few weeks. -Click here for details-

Just when we thought the worst was over, things just got crazy.  This past week, our computer crashed (I'm posting this from our new computer!), the riding lawnmower broke, the van needs an expensive service, and our car needs new tires.  Jimmy's calf and back continue to bring him grief and I had a nasty case of pink eye.

Jimmy and I joke about having "first world problems."  All our problems are solvable and not serious in any way.  It's just when you put them all together in a short period of time, it's terribly annoying!

Jimmy and Alex were out there for an hour trying to get our lawnmower fixed.  He finally gave in and called a mechanic.  Turns out we need a new motor :/

Oh well, in the grand scheme of things, life is good.  We are happy.  This too shall pass.  Here are a few pictures from this week that make me smile:

We surprised the kids with donuts this morning.  They only ate the frosting!

Cuddling on our bed, watching music videos.  Love these guys

Kentucky Pumpkin Patch

Christian Way Farms
Hopkinsville, Kentucky

Wagon full of dried corn

Amelia made the food for the animals from scratch.  We took the dried corn off the cob and then crushed it using this machine.  She was soooooo proud of herself.

The little bucket she's holding is the animal food she made.  Not surprisingly, Alex is pointing in excitement at the pig.  Amelia, "That pig likes muuuuuuuud!"

Feeding the goat.  Alex kept putting his finger through the fence and I was so scared the goat was going to bite it off!

Amelia got so mad because the turkeys (?) wouldn't eat her special food.

Alex found his pumpkin right away

Amelia looked at about a dozen before she found the perfect "pumpkin cutie."

Not surprisingly, Amelia chose the awkward shaped pumpkin.  Love her.

Beautiful.  Now this is the country!
