Amelia's First Pumpkin

Amelia has two elephant toys that she absolutely loves and she makes what can be described as elephant noises.  She has many nicknames and one of them is "Elephante."  It seemed appropriate that her first pumpkin be an elephant!

Week 10

I'm getting ready to go for a walk and out to lunch with mommy and her friend.  I also rode on the Metro again because I'm a big city baby!  Mommy had sushi, which means I had sushi two hours later ;0)

My new thing is sucking on my fist!  I also started drooling like crazy.  Daddy calls me the "leaky faucet."

I was having so much fun on my play mat that I fell asleep!

Sooooo tired...

Amelia Chillin' with the kitties (Week 9)

Rudy is really starting to warm up to Amelia.  Rudy likes to be near her and always watches Amelia.

Lucy "Snout" is more cautious.  She just likes to walk by and check things out most of the time.

Rudy was watching and guarding Amelia the whole time she was playing!

I caught Lucy "Snout" checking things out too.

Every time I lay a blanket down for Amelia to play on, the kitties think it's a new bed for them.  It's really annoying and I always end up doing lots of laundry.

This is Amelia's quilt from her Aunt Joanne... it's beautiful!

A weekend full of firsts...Halloween & Rally Fun

This weekend was full of firsts for our little Amelia!

She had her First...
  • Halloween
  • Visit in a bar
  • Political Rally
  • Visit to the National Mall
  • Metro Ride

Mommy and her kitty on Halloween.
Amelia wore her costume all day!

Amelia spent her first Halloween in a bar...

Trick or treating at the bar.  Amelia (meaning daddy) scored big time on some candy!

On Saturday, we took Amelia to this rally at the National Mall.  It was a rally to restore sanity and/or fear, ha ha ha.

We made Amelia a double sided sign to carry around at the rally.
At two months old, she can already make smart, witty political comments ;0)

I love the wink!

The signs were hilarious!

Tets came down from Boston to participate.  His sign was featured on the Daily Show as a moment of Zen!!

Jimmy rocking out the Ergo... Amelia is in there taking a nap!  We didn't know if it would be a good idea to take a two month old to such a huge and crazy event, but we wanted to try it out.  She did well for about two and a half hours... we're so proud of her.  We ended up leaving early and catching the rest of the rally on TV.

The crowds were estimated at more than 215,000

We took the Metro to the rally, so it was Amelia's first ride!
This is Jimmy and Amelia at the Metro station.

All tuckered out after a long day of rallying to restore sanity and/or fear.

Baby's First Halloween shirt & pumpkins

Thank you Nana for sending me my "Baby's First Halloween" shirt

Mommy and Daddy love it when I smile!

I'm such a happy baby!

Right now, I'm making a present in my diaper for my Daddy ;0)

I'm just checking out my pumpkins from the pumpkin patch.  Hmmmmmmm, since they have long stems, I think I'll make the pumpkins look like elephants.  Stay tuned, Mommy will post pictures when we're done!

Pumpkin Patch

Yes, Jimmy and I took our two month old to the pumpkin patch ;0)  We figured that we needed to get pumpkins anyway and that the fresh country air would be good for her.

Amelia's first trip to the pumpkin patch was a success... she slept through the whole experience!  We found the best three pumpkins on the farm and got some fresh produce for dinner.  We can't wait to take Amelia again next year.  By then, she'll be walking and she can enjoy the hay ride, corn maze, and other fun stuff at the festival.

We went to Butler's Orchard in Germantown Maryland

Searching...

Sleepyhead Amelia is dreaming about finding the perfect pumpkin.
(Check out her little fist on her cheek; it's her favorite position!)

Now she's dreaming of corn.
(Notice her fist on her cheek again)

Amelia's first pumpkin!
She was sitting up at first, but by the time I went to take the picture she started slouching...
she still looks cute anyways ;0)

2 month well baby

WEIGHT: 9lbs, 15 oz
LENGTH: 22 in

Amelia had her two month well baby visit this week at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.  She is now almost 10 pounds, so she has nearly doubled her weight.  At her 2 week check up she was only 5 lbs, 5 oz and was in the 5th percentile for weight.  Now, she is in the 47th percentile, so she is now an average sized baby.  She is in the 50th percentile for length at 22 inches.  She is a happy and healthy baby.

Jimmy gets to be at all the appointments since he works at Walter Reed.

She always has her little fist on her cheek

Happy Parents

Mommy and Mia

Yay, daddy is home from work!

Cuddle time

I'm using the Ergo Baby to carry Amelia around...
You can't see her, but Amelia's in there taking a nap!
It almost feels like I'm pregnant again!

Now it's time to get some chores done!
