Andrew has been on an awesome evening/night schedule for the past month. He has been going to bed around 7pm, sleeps through the night, and wakes up around 5:30am. We are so thankful he is sleeping through the night (for now, at least).

However, as Jimmy is preparing for his Change of Command in June, he has been working late nights. There have been evenings when he doesn't get a chance to see Andrew before he goes to bed. The big kids go to bed at 7:30pm, but I usually try to keep them up until Jimmy gets home, at least for a bedtime story.

Sometimes, Andrew and Jimmy wake up around the same time during the week too, so they get a chance to hang out in the early morning. Thankfully, we have lots of family quality time on the weekends!

It's been a rough couple of weeks, but the end is near... Jimmy will be taking more than 35 days off this summer! We. Are. So. Excited!

Spring Break Photo Dump

It's a Hard KNOX Life

In six (yes SIX!) short weeks, our family will be moving to Elizabethtown, Kentucky!

Jimmy's command at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) at Fort Campbell will come to an end in June, so we are preparing for the transition and another PCS.

This will be our 8th move and 5th state in 13 years.

Jimmy has accepted a position at Fort Knox at the Ireland Army Community Hospital (IACH). There, he will be the Chief of Pathology. Words can't describe how happy and proud I am for him. Jimmy is such a motivated, hard worker. He has been eager to run his own laboratory for a long time and this will be a great opportunity for him.

We've been preparing for this move since January! With three young children, we wanted to make sure that we had everything set up, researched, and ready for a smooth move. Our main goal was to make this move as painless as possible for the kids.

We focused on finding a family friendly neighborhood with a great elementary school... easier said than done, but we did it. House hunting was very very stressful!

I'm so excited about our new house. We've outgrown our current home and are eager for more space. We plan to move in late May.

Amelia will be going to an amazing elementary school, The Panther Academy. Alex will be going to a Montessori preschool and I know he's going to love it. I got Alex on the preschool waiting list early. We just got the call this week, that he was able to get a spot for next school year, yay! I plan to stay home full time at least for another year.

When we first moved to Clarksville, it was a tough transition. However, in the past four years, we have really grown to enjoy this area and have embraced our "small town" lifestyle.

When we moved here, Amelia was barely one year old and Alex was still an infant. They grew up in Clarksville and this is the only place they've ever known. This area will always have a special place in my heart.

Our whole family is excited for this upcoming move. We pride ourselves on our resiliency and are always up for an adventure. However, this will definitely be bittersweet for us all. The BACH community, our friends who have become family, my mom's group, our cul de sac neighbors, our playgroup, the kids' preschool, the kids' friends... wow, leaving this place is going to be tough!
