Clarksville SNOWmageddon

It only took six inches of snow to shut down the city for two days.  It rarely snows in Clarksville, so we will happily take a snow day or two ;0)  We get a five day weekend with Jimmy, yay!!

Since Jimmy was shoveling the driveway, the kids choice of play was mostly scooping up the snow and throwing it around.  They also enjoyed burying their toys and digging them up, making tracks and paths, and jumping into snow piles.  Sadly, they are too big for the infant sled we had, but Amelia liked pulling it around anyway.

The kids don't have any proper snow gear, but we layered them up with tons of clothes and did the best we could!  It was still snowing heavily while we were outside, so that just added to the fun.

Me: Where does snow come from?
Amelia: I think Elsa feels scared, so she makes it snow.

"This snow is amazing!"

"The snow keeps getting in my eye!"

Alex's tongue is stuck to his mitten.  He was freaking out, ha ha.  Mimi is taking advantage of this and planning a sneak attack.

Ha ha, Alex was surprised!

You can't tell from this picture, but Mimi is on a huge snow mound.  She was quite proud of herself for climbing it.

Burying toys...

We need a bigger sled!  The kids were way to big for our infant sled.

Snow fight!

Toddler Bromance

For the past few months, Alex has been in a bromance with his new buddy Owen.  They share a deep love for monster trucks, chocolate, and tormenting their sisters.  Although Owen is a 49ers fan, Alex has been able to look past that flaw and move forward with their friendship.

Disney Live: Pirates and Princesses

We took a trip to Nashville to take the kids to Disney Live: Pirates and Princesses.  The kids have been excited to go for weeks.  They are at the perfect age for a show like this and were in complete awe during the entire show.  Although, after the show, Amelia had tons of questions about why the characters looked different than when they were on TV (live action vs. animated).  Ugh.

Parenting tip: I bought the kids inexpensive glow toys through Amazon.com to give them for the show.  This was much more cost effective than paying $30 for each one at the event.  The kids didn't know the difference, so it was awesome ;0)

Sofia The First

Intermission = Funnel Cake
Alex was obsessed.  He was eating it as fast as he could so he could get more.  I think in the end, he ate about half of it.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates
Amelia and Alex decided that the Jake show was the best part of the show.  Jimmy and I agreed!

She Writes

Amelia is getting really skilled at writing and sounding out words.  Currently, she loves doing her homework, writing for fun, and figuring out how to spell words.   She is so curious, diligent, and creative.  I'm so proud of her!

When I asked her what her greatest accomplishment was since she started preschool, without hesitation she said, "I know how to write a lowercase e now mommy!"  It was such an adorable, unexpected answer!

She keeps homework time exciting by dressing up...

Making Valentine's

Mommy, how do you write, "Amelia loves Ethan?"

During writing time with daddy, they sound out words like....
"Alex Poop"

and "Underwear"

Two Peas in a Pod

They sneak into each others' rooms after we put them to bed, so they can be together,  I love the special bond they have.  They are so close and I hope this bond continues as they grow up.
