Alex "reading" (saying each letter out loud) his favorite tractor book.  He loves to read in the small space between the sofa and the wall because of the air vent.  He loves the warmth it provides when it's on.  He always says, "Ah-kee (Alex) hot.  Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa."

Pics from Jimmy's Captain's Career Course

I think there are about 200 Soldiers in the course, but this is Jimmy's group.  They have all their classes together, are teamed up for projects, and some have become his closest friends.

It's important to note that the Seahawks won the Superbowl for the first time this year.  Jimmy has been a fan since childhood, so this was a big moment for him.  It's too bad we couldn't watch the game or celebrate together, but I'm glad he was able to enjoy it with his friends from the course.

Kidz N Play

The weather has been too cold to play outside.  We ended up going to Kidz n Play twice this week for playtime.  We hadn't been here in a few months and I'm amazed at how much more independent and adventurous the kids are.  They really do grow so fast!

Alex and Mimi were definitely more interested in the massive, multilevel playground.  They even went into the playground area without me by their side!  Although, Alex did get stuck in there a few times (it's like a maze!) and I had to crawl in and rescue him.  Also, they seemed more independent in the toddler playing area.

Great Day

Every night when I tuck the kids into bed, we talk about our day.  Lately, Mimi has been focusing on when daddy will come home and how much she misses him, but this time, she seemed genuinely happy.

"Mommy, we had a great day!"

Today we went to a friend's birthday party and then the weather warmed up enough for us to spend lots of time outside.  Just 42 days until Jimmy comes home... Hopefully we will have more great days before he gets back!
