Amelia made the food for the animals from scratch.  We took the dried corn off the cob and then crushed it using this machine.  She was soooooo proud of herself.

The little bucket she's holding is the animal food she made.  Not surprisingly, Alex is pointing in excitement at the pig.  Amelia, "That pig likes muuuuuuuud!"

Feeding the goat.  Alex kept putting his finger through the fence and I was so scared the goat was going to bite it off!

 

Amelia got so mad because the turkeys (?) wouldn't eat her special food.

Alex found his pumpkin right away

Amelia looked at about a dozen before she found the perfect "pumpkin cutie."

Not surprisingly, Amelia chose the awkward shaped pumpkin.  Love her.

Beautiful.  Now this is the country!

Kindermusik

Alex and I have been taking a Kindermusik class since Amelia started preschool.  It took a few classes for him to get used to it, but now he does really well!  It's been such a pleasure to watch him adjust, grow, and now be silly.  I'm so proud of him. 

Alex, 20 Months

What is Alex like at 20 months?

Alex is still a boy of few words, but he has a great memory!  He is able to recognize and identify all his letters and numbers 1-9.  He also knows 20+ different types of vehicles like, excavators, cement trucks, cranes, limos, biplanes, helicopters, etc.

He loves different textures and enjoys squishing things in his hands.

When he gets excited, he screams.  Not just any scream, a super high pitched scream.

Alex thinks everything is a drum.  He also loves to jump and bounce aggressively on your lap and hardly ever keeps still.  He's a very active little boy!

He is still obsessed with cars and usually carries at least one with him at all times.  He pushes them across the floor and makes little piles of them all around the house.  His new thing is pushing them down our slide.

He has a favorite pair of shoes and wants to wear them every day.  Sadly, he is starting to outgrow them, but refuses to wear any other.

He has two favorite pairs of pajamas, we know because he screams in delight and points to it when he wears them.  One has a fire truck on it and the other has cars on it.

Loves to dance and spin.  He jumps off everything.

Loves to play with rocks, mud, and dirt.  He could play outside all day and loves the park.  He's very independent and climbs, slides and gets into all kinds of trouble at the park.

He has the cutest giggle!  Sometimes he will just be watching the cat and start giggling.

Princesses and Heros on Ice

Oh the lies we tell our kids...

 

Amelia saw a commercial about Disney World and had lots of questions about where it was and what was so special about it.  Jimmy made the mistake of telling her that's where all the princesses lived. 

 

Of course, her new obsession was to go to Disney and meet all the Princesses in person.  We told her yet another lie and said she would have to wait until she was seven years old to go to Disney World.  That refocused her energy to her seventh birthday.  Phew, dodged that one.

 

When Jimmy heard that Disney on Ice was coming to town and that it would be featuring Princesses and Heroes, he was on the Internet trying to scoop up front row tickets for our family. Just to add to our web of lies, we told Amelia that Disney on Ice was actually Disney World. 

 

Now she thinks she's seven.  Ooops.

 

 

Amelia got all gussied up for the show!  She was very excited to see all the other kids dressed up too. "Mommy, look at all the princesses like me!"

Alex enjoyed the show too.  He did the usual pointing and screaming in excitement.  It was called Princesses and Heroes, but it was obviously focused on the Princesses.  He was a good sport about it ;0)
